A Little Study of the 7 Thunders

It turns out that the 7 thunders throughout the Book of Revelation appear to be a Chiasmus.

So here's an outline of Revelation:

I've included sections outside the Chiasmus of the 7 Thunders. And I've tried to summarize the sections of the Chiasmus to show how the steps up and down correlate.

I've also included a note about the description of the 7 Thunders, and where it is: just before the Climax of the Chiasmus.

The 7 Letters to the 7 Churches

 (which, by the way, are their own Chiasmus)

Thunder 1

4:5 the Throne scenes

• God’s Righteousness and Judgment
• It's beyond us and our mere mortal attainment

Thunder 2

6:1 the 7 Seals opened, followed by the sealing of the 12 tribes

• A Way has opened for God’s Chosen

Thunder 3

8:3 the 7 Trumpets

• The Great Tribulation
• The Enemy’s attempt to hurt God’s Children

A Pause: A description of the Angle that roars and the 7 Thunders

Thunder 4

11:19 the intro to main characters of the spiritual battles; and the main reason.

• Two Witnesses, 1260 days
• Temple of God with Ark
• Virgin (with Moon and Crown of Stars) and Child
• The Dragon
• The Beast

This is the crux of chiasmus (The Virgin and Child)

• This section has the description of How Jesus died for us to redeem us and give us Salvation.
• It also ends with information on how to identify the antichrist so we can be prepared for the Second Coming.

Thunder 5

14:2 the description of fruits of the harvest, followed by the harvest and finally the 7 vials

• God’s protection for His Children
• And His wrath on His enemies

Thunder 6

16:18 the 7th vial and judgment of Babylon and the beasts

• The Door has closed on God’s Enemies

Thunder 7

19:6 the victory for the eklesia and the marriage, followed by a view of the future millennium and then New Jerusalem.

• This is God’s Righteousness fulfilled as He wills and for His desire
• And it includes us!
