and he died ,

just as

the man
הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים

of God
אֲשֶׁ֣ר

had foretold
הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

when the king
בְּרֶ֥דֶת

אֵלָֽיו׃

to him .
18 It happened just as the man of God had told the king: “About this time tomorrow at the gate of Samaria, two seahs of barley will sell for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour will sell for a shekel.”

of Samaria ,
סָאתַ֨יִם
sā·ṯa·yim
two seahs
שְׂעֹרִ֜ים
śə·‘ō·rîm
of barley
בְּשֶׁ֗קֶל
bə·še·qel
will sell for a shekel ,
וּֽסְאָה־
ū·sə·’āh-
and a seah
סֹ֙לֶת֙
sō·leṯ
of fine flour
יִהְיֶה֙
yih·yeh
will sell
בְּשֶׁ֔קֶל
bə·še·qel
for a shekel . ”
19 And the officer had answered the man of God, “Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?” So Elisha had replied, “You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!”

even if the LORD
עֹשֶׂ֤ה

were to make
אֲרֻבּוֹת֙
’ă·rub·bō·wṯ
windows
בַּשָּׁמַ֔יִם
baš·šā·ma·yim
in heaven ,
הַזֶּ֑ה
haz·zeh
could this
הֲיִהְיֶ֖ה
hă·yih·yeh
really happen
כַּדָּבָ֣ר
kad·dā·ḇār
. . . ? ”
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר
way·yō·mer
So Elisha had replied ,
הִנְּךָ֤
hin·nə·ḵā
“ -
רֹאֶה֙
rō·’eh
You will see [it]
בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ
bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā
with your own eyes ,
לֹ֥א

but you will not
תֹאכֵֽל׃
ṯō·ḵêl
eat
וּמִשָּׁ֖ם
ū·miš·šām
any of it ! ”
20 And that is just what happened to him. The people trampled him in the gateway, and he died.
