palace
דֶּֽרֶך־

by way
שַׁ֥עַר
ša·ʿar
of the Gate
הָרָצִ֖ים
hā·rā·ṣîm
of the Guards .
וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב
way·yê·šeḇ
Then [Joash] took his seat
עַל־
‘al-
on
הַמְּלָכִֽים׃
ham·mə·lā·ḵîm
the royal
כִּסֵּ֥א
kis·sê
throne ,
20 and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword at the royal palace.

וַיִּשְׂמַ֥ח

was quiet ,
וְאֶת־
wə·’eṯ-

עֲתַלְיָ֛הוּ
‘ă·ṯal·yā·hū
because Athaliah
הֵמִ֥יתוּ
hê·mî·ṯū
had been put to
בַחֶ֖רֶב
ḇa·ḥe·reḇ
the sword
מֶלֶךְ׃ס
mɛ·lɛḵ
at the royal
בֵּ֥ית
bêṯ
palace .
21 Joash was seven years old when he became king.
