In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.

Then Jesus said to all of them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

For many are called, but few are chosen.”

No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they shared with anyone who was in need.

By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

Then Jesus declared, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and then looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”

If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.

You were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me; and anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.
