Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care on him; for he cares for you.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

And whoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

But he that glories, let him glory in the Lord.

When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Not with eye-service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
