וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים נִלְחֲמ֣וּ בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִֽישׁ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וַיָּ֑נָס מִפְּנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיִּפְּל֥וּ חֲלָלִ֖ים בְּהַ֥ר גִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃

פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים אֶת־ שָׁאֽוּל׃ בְּנֵ֥י יוֹנָתָ֧ן וְאֶת־ אֲבִינָדָ֛ב וְאֶת־ מַלְכִּי־ שׁ֖וּעַ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים אַחֲרֵ֥י וַיַּדְבְּק֣וּ שָׁא֖וּל וְאַחֲרֵ֣י בָנָ֑יו וַיַּכּ֣וּ

הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ וַתִּכְבַּ֤ד עַל־ שָׁא֔וּל הַמּוֹרִ֣ים וַיִּמְצָאֻ֖הוּ בַּקָּ֑שֶׁת וַיָּ֖חֶל מִן־ הַיּוֹרִֽים׃

שָׁאוּל֩ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־ נֹשֵׂ֨א כֵלָ֜יו שְׁלֹ֥ף חַרְבְּךָ֣׀ וְדָקְרֵ֣נִי בָ֗הּ פֶּן־ הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ הָעֲרֵלִ֤ים יָבֹ֜אוּ וְהִתְעַלְּלוּ־ בִ֔י נֹשֵׂ֣א כֵלָ֔יו כִּ֥י יָרֵ֖א מְאֹ֑דס וְלֹ֤א אָבָה֙ שָׁאוּל֙ אֶת־ וַיִּקַּ֤ח הַחֶ֔רֶב וַיִּפֹּ֖ל עָלֶֽיהָ׃

נֹשֵֽׂא־ כֵלָ֖יו וַיַּ֥רְא כִּ֣י שָׁא֑וּל מֵ֣ת ה֛וּא גַּם־ וַיִּפֹּ֥ל עַל־ הַחֶ֖רֶב וַיָּמֹֽת׃ס

שָׁאוּל֙ מֵֽתוּ׃ יַחְדָּ֥ו וּשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת בָּנָ֔יו וַיָּ֤מָת וְכָל־ בֵּית֖וֹ

7

כָּל־ אִ֨ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־ בָּעֵ֙מֶק֙ וַ֠יִּרְאוּ כִּ֣י נָ֔סוּ וְכִי־ שָׁא֣וּל וּבָנָ֑יו מֵ֖תוּ וַיַּעַזְב֤וּ עָרֵיהֶם֙ וַיָּנֻ֔סוּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ בָּהֶֽם׃ס

וַיְהִי֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ לְפַשֵּׁ֖ט אֶת־ הַֽחֲלָלִ֑ים וַֽיִּמְצְא֤וּ אֶת־ שָׁאוּל֙ וְאֶת־ בָּנָ֔יו נֹפְלִ֖ים בְּהַ֥ר גִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃

9

וַיַּ֨פְשִׁיטֻ֔הוּ רֹאשׁ֖וֹ וְאֶת־ וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ אֶת־ כֵּלָ֑יו וַיְשַׁלְּח֨וּ בְאֶֽרֶץ־ פְלִשְׁתִּ֜ים סָבִ֗יב לְבַשֵּׂ֛ר אֶת־ עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֖ם וְאֶת־ הָעָֽם׃

10

וַיָּשִׂ֙ימוּ֙ אֶת־ כֵּלָ֔יו בֵּ֖ית אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם וְאֶת־ תָקְע֖וּ גֻּלְגָּלְתּ֥וֹ בֵּ֥ית דָּגֽוֹן׃ס

11

כֹּ֖ל יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֑ד אֵ֛ת וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֔וּ כָּל־ אֲשֶׁר־ פְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים עָשׂ֥וּ לְשָׁאֽוּל׃

12

כָּל־ אִ֣ישׁ חַיִל֒ וַיָּקוּמוּ֮ וַיִּשְׂא֞וּ אֶת־ גּוּפַ֣ת שָׁא֗וּל וְאֵת֙ גּוּפֹ֣ת בָּנָ֔יו וַיְבִיא֖וּם יָבֵ֑ישָׁה וַיִּקְבְּר֨וּ אֶת־ עַצְמוֹתֵיהֶ֜ם תַּ֤חַת הָאֵלָה֙ בְּיָבֵ֔שׁ וַיָּצ֖וּמוּ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃

13

שָׁא֗וּל וַיָּ֣מָת מָעַ֣ל בְּמַֽעֲלוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּֽיהוָ֔ה עַל־ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־ שָׁמָ֑ר דְּבַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה וְגַם־ לִשְׁא֥וֹל בָּא֖וֹב לִדְרֽוֹשׁ׃

14

וְלֹֽא־ דָרַ֥שׁ בַּֽיהוָ֖ה וַיְמִיתֵ֑הוּ הַמְּלוּכָ֔ה וַיַּסֵּב֙ אֶת־ לְדָוִ֖יד בֶּן־ יִשָֽׁי׃פ
