22 Then you will do as I have done: You will not cover your lips or eat the bread of mourners.

25 And you, son of man, know that on the day I take away their stronghold, their pride and joy—the desire of their eyes which uplifted their souls—and their sons and daughters as well,

away
אֶת־
’eṯ-

מָ֣עוּזָּ֔ם
mā·‘ūz·zām
their stronghold ,
תִּפְאַרְתָּ֑ם
tip̄·’ar·tām
their pride
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
מְשׂ֖וֹשׂ
mə·śō·wś
and joy —
מַחְמַ֤ד
maḥ·maḏ
the desire
עֵֽינֵיהֶם֙
‘ê·nê·hem
of their eyes
וְאֶת־
wə·’eṯ-
-
מַשָּׂ֣א
maś·śā
which uplifted
נַפְשָׁ֔ם
nap̄·šām
their souls —
בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם
bə·nê·hem
and their sons
וּבְנוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
ū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯê·hem
and daughters as well ,
26 on that day a fugitive will come and tell you the news.
הַה֔וּא

on that
בַּיּ֣וֹם
bay·yō·wm
day
הַפָּלִ֖יט
hap·pā·lîṭ
a fugitive
יָב֥וֹא
yā·ḇō·w
will come
אֵלֶ֑יךָ
’ê·le·ḵā

לְהַשְׁמָע֖וּת
lə·haš·mā·‘ūṯ
and tell you the news
אָזְנָֽיִם׃
’ā·zə·nā·yim
. . . .
27 On that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped; you will speak and no longer be mute. So you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the LORD.”

and no
ע֑וֹד
‘ō·wḏ
longer
תֵֽאָלֵ֖ם
ṯê·’ā·lêm
be mute .
וְהָיִ֤יתָ
wə·hā·yî·ṯā
So you will be
לְמוֹפֵ֔ת
lə·mō·w·p̄êṯ
a sign
לָהֶם֙
lā·hem
to them ,
וְיָדְע֖וּ
wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū
and they will know
כִּֽי־
kî-
that
אֲנִ֥י
’ă·nî
I
יְהוָֽה׃ס
Yah·weh
am the LORD . ”
